So we finally got the Panasonic SD Bread Maker delivered on Thursday.

Not having ANY breadmaking experience, under my belt, I first tried a gluten-free BREAD MIX....and it turned out perfect! I was superpleased with myself! I thought it tasted much better than shop-bought gluten-free bread...but never mind what I think -Eden has to like it: she wasn't too impressed!!!!! Oh dear!

Today I felt gutsy and followed a recipe....well, it didn't go well...loaf didn't bake! I think I didn't take it too seriously when the recipe asked for a certain order and adding the liquids first!!!

Will keep you posted!

Vanessa.

Did you have it on a timer? If you do you need to keep the yeast away from the liquid I think. In some breads the water temp is more important than others. Don't give up please do a few more experiments!:)

loaf didn't bake? then you had it on the dough setting not the bake. or the machine is broken...

regardless of the recipe if the panasonic says liquids in last then do it that way. doesn't really matter too much as long as you keep the salt/sugar away from the yeast until it starts. salt kills the yeast.
with all breads get used to check a minute or two after it starts to mix to check that it's not too wet or dry. especially as gluten free needs extra liquid.
the dough should be sticky to the touch but not too wet.

...I think it was the yeast! I didn't keep the salt away from it. The machine was set alright.

I think I stick to bread mixes!!!! Can't go wrong there. I have 2 different mixes to try yet.
