:( my little boy fed Jemima some yoghurt off his spoon, she was in her highchair and I left them for 2 minutes, I was only in the next room getting my lunch and when I came in she had yoghurt on her face.

For about 3 hours after she was very sicky, every 10 mins she would be sick and it really did stink. She has had a cold for about 5 weeks now but soon after having the yoghurt she had very green snot and was very mucusy. Thing is she had no diorrhea in the last day or so since it happened. So can they still be intolerant/allergic but not have the runs after dairy?

I shall never let my son stay in the room with her, I didn't see him do it, I kept popping my head in to check they were ok then I came in and she was covered:eek: lol! kids:lol2:

If she was that sick immediately it probably didn't have a chance to get into her system. Looks like you were right to keep her off it, keep up the hard work.

As Ellsie said the yoghurt didn't go through her system as she sicked it all up -yuk! It shows that she still can't cope with any dairy. Kids you just can't leave them for 5 seconds can you :lol2:

Thank you both, why didn't I think of that??hehe. She was sick that much it didn't have chance to go through her system, doh!

So when they are allergic/intolerant how come they are sick straight away and for so long? does it not hit the stomach? also with her getting so snotty after dairy does it mean she is intolerant or allergic? noticed her cheeks were also bright red that night but she is teething so hard to tell.

I am no expert on this but allergies tend to involve swelling - eg throat. This is why allergies are so serious. If nothing was swollen I guess she is intolerant.

allergy is an autoimmune response so swelling, temperature rash that sort of thing i think.
intolerant is more feel sick, bloated and rthe runs etc.

i think being sick could be either. body's way of ejecting the poison. unfortunatley it isn't sensitive enought to realise that the job is done so it just ejects everything!!:o

Thank you both,

She doesn't seem to get the runs now if we have a slight accident but you can guarantee she will have a very stinky nappy that evening but the sick is just terrible, its never ending, gross.

You don't necessarily have to have diarrhea. Some people only have diarrhea, other are just sick with food intolerances. Others still get bloated.

If it was an allergy she would have had a sronger reaction, I'm sure, e.g. a. shock or swelling of the throat/breathing difficulties.
