I had not bought any Tesco organic plain chocolate for a while. It now comes in a cardboard box rather than a paper wrapper. It used to be dairy free and taste yummy, now it is dairy free and very bitter  I really must make a trip to Waitrose sometime soon and see what they have in the store.

Not tried that chocolate but as I can't have soya alot of chocolate is off limits for me.
Have you tried the Vegan Organica "Hazlenut Nougat and Dark chocolate Bar" not bad. This company also do a milk chocolate type bar made with rice milk that tastes not bad, but sorry don't have the full name. Just ordered some from my local health food store, have tried some and also okay but obviously not as good as the real thing.

Im not really keen on plain bars of chocolate...Has to be mint or some other soft centered ones.....I love after dinner mints and after eights....The fruit n nut chocccie bars are ok thou from H&B....Oh i like those whizzers too..
all this talk of choc again!! i really must get the courage to risk trying some of the waitrose bar i have. might stick it in the fridge. nice cold choc on hot day!
I got 2 bars of Tesco organic choc the other week, picked them both up from the same pile, got home and one of them was milk grrrrrr!!! So hubby got a treat. They were still paper wrapped though, the cardboard packs mustn't have come in around here yet.
The Waitrose bar 'milk' choc bar is tangerine flavoured - I think its not nearly as nice as the plain version which you can get in some health food shops under the Sweet William brand or as Sainsburys own brand (freefrom aisle). The almond one is OK too, but I think the plain one is best (says she, having just had one for breakfast!).

My god Matt, aint you eaten that yet...
As long as it's Dairy Free and says chocolate on the front i'll eat it.:D
it's got caffeine in it... cue panic attacks so have to be in right mood and not matter if have one!!!! all that for chocolate.
"1.4 ounces of milk chocolate contains about 6 milligrams of caffeine, about the same as the amount found in a cup of decaffeinated coffee." Nice bit of googling reveals this!!
You drink decaff coffee and manage, so you've no excuse now!! (bar the possible psyscosomatic reaction)

The Organica hazelnut one happycat mentions they sell in my local Waitrose is nice - it tastes pretty much like ordinary nutty chocolate to me. The milky one they don't sell in my local Waitrose but I have got myself a bar and it's very nice. Tastes milky too.
claire you quoted milk choc. we have dark 70% plus choc. much more caffeine as the average milk choc has much less ....
and yes there's always the psychosomatic....
Sorry I thought the bar you had been given was a dairy free milk choc. If not, go out and buy some of that!!
what i need is a damn big hammer to stop the psychosomatic reaction!!!!:o  :lol2:
