Just wondering what sort of time scale we are talking for an allergic reaction to show up in a b/fed baby?

Would it be next feed? or more likely next day?

Also, having eliminated dairy for 4 days I *think* I may have had some last night... I know for certain though that I had eggs - x2 fried lol

DS was v agitated last night with severe diarrhoea this morning, v wheezy/mucousy, rash & spots on his bottom :( If I did have dairy it would only have been a small amount so is this more likely to have been caused by the eggs (which for some reason is my gut instinct).

I feel so guilty & also that the last 4 dairy-free days have been a waste...

I guess all I can do is eliminate both & reintroduce eggs in a month or so?

Sorry, just rambling really!

Thanks, juliex

Everybody reacts differently and this is what makes it all so difficult. All you can do is remove eggs from your diet too and as you said try again in a month. If he is poorly again then it is probably the egg he is reacting to as well as the dairy already identified.

I am intolerant to eggs rather than allergic and it takes a few hours before I feel ill. You need to try and find out if he is allergic to egg as some vaccinations contain egg I believe. Others here with babies will know more about this I am sure.

I think it's usually the next day with my little one. Well, that's when I get to see the results around her bottom anyhow! Whether she gets pain or problems before then, I can't say - nothing obvious.

Except for red wine - that causes a reaction within an hour or 2 of the feed.
