Hi all. For the benefit of the new members here is an explanation of my ever changing status.
My husband will be 60 in October and has decided to retire from his teaching job in July. I work in the same college as a science technician. I have decided to "retire" at the end of June. I am only 52 so I intend to enjoy my freedom :lol2: I only work mornings and now I only have 14 mornings to go - not that I am counting!

Hi Me,
You will love the freedom, no doubt your days will be filled very quickly. Nows your chance to catch up on all the things you wanted to do. Make a list, bet it will be a long one. A work collegue of mine has just retired recently and there first holiday will be a motorbike tour with her husband who retired last year. How amazing. Not something i would have imagined her doing, but i think its great. Wishing you both a lovely time. Enjoy.

Good luck to you both!! Hope you've got lots of things planned, any major cross stitch projects in mind? I'm doing a birth sampler for late July and an 18th card for early July, I'm not getting far very fast though.
My Mother-in-Law retired in May and is now going in to 'help them out' if anyone's sick or on holiday - she must be mad! I think she's a person who is easily bored!!!
P.S. When and where is the party?!

The old Managing Director at work had retired before he came to work at my company. Then he retired again but doesn't seem to have quite managed to have actually left.
whatever your excuse is nevermind copper:lol2:
