Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone could give me any tips on which flour and milk (excluding soya!) would be best to use for yorkshire puddings, does anyone have a tried and tested recipe they could let me have? My mum (the queen of sunday lunch!!) has said she will make a batch for Zac so I can freeze them.
Thanks, Lou xx
dove farm flour should be ok certainly no wheat or soya see http://www.dovesfarm-glutenfree.co.uk/gluten-free-recipes.htm
no specific receipe for yorkshires, i would try an unsweetened rice milk, should be fairly neutral taste wise.
the only alternative would be using doves gluten free bread as it has extra binding agents to help things rise. not sure re soya though as have none.
I know that they don't rise with oat milk but I'm sure I've heard that rice milk is ok, you would need one of the less sweet ones though. Provamel is quite sweet but I'm using Rice Dream Original (BOGOF at holland & Barrett) at the moment and it doesn't seem as sweet.
Sorry, I don't know anything about gluten free flours, but bear in mind that you use plain flour for yorkshires not self raising so avoid anything with rising agents added.
