I've just called my travel insurance company to make sure Jacob and Zachary are covered for their asthma and Zachary for his allergies.....everything was fine until they asked if Zachary was on a waiting list for any specialist. As he is waiting to see the allergist they will not cover his food allergies, despite the appointment only being for a "second opinion" as to whether he needs the Epipen.
I have managed to get myself in a state (wrong time of the month!!!) and now don't know what to do? I am taking food with me and will be with him all the time, so chances are everything will be fine............but what if it isn't? The only suggestion the insurers could make was that I take another policy out with another insurer for him........but won't they all have the same rules?
Has anyone else had this problem?

Endsleighs told me that they wouldn't cover any condition that I hadn't had for more than six months, although they were very good at covered me for my ME. I was never asked about specialists etc.... I'd try asking to speak to someone higher up or trying somewhere else.
Hope this helps a little bit.

My mother in law takes beta blockers for her heart and found it difficult to find insurance - even saga wouldnt do it. Eventually after much searching she got a reasonable quote though.

So I suggest you keep trying.

If you are going to Europe the EHIC card will help although it doesnt solve the problem of getting you home and covering expenses if you miss your flight etc.
