Don't know if anyone can help but I used to use a dairy free cheese sauce (in powder) for lasagnes. I haven't seen it in the supermarkets recently and wondered if I could use anything else.

I know you can buy it from Holland and Barrett and some health food shops, comes in a yellow tub. I did have one in the cuboard, but if i remember correctly Pam once said it yuk and tastes like smely socks, so it remained unopened,:lol2: . But not sure if there are sauces in the supermarkets that are dairyfree.

Yeap I used it once, smelt of smelly socks or baby vomit and it went straight in the bin!!
I tried it in lasagne and it didn't really taste cheesy and I tried it on cauliflower but didn't like it on that either. It has a strange peppery taste but not really cheesy.
I use tofutti slices on top of a white sauce made with soya milk for my lasagne, but don't go mad with the tofutti because it doesn't taste great. I actually had lasagne for my tea tonight.
A lot of people use yeast flakes to make a cheesy flavour and someone on here recommended the Uncheese Cookbook for some great cheesy alternatives.
Hi all,
I use Parmazano to make a cheese sauce with my soya milk. It's quite nice, but too much Parmazano can make the sauce sickly. I also try to add some melting Cheezly.
I shall await the screams of indignation on the latter!!! LOL :lol2::lol2::lol2:

I made a really delicious cheese sauce to go on top of brocolli - a white sauce made with soya milk then half a block of the smoked cheddar Scheese (by far the best flavour of Scheese I've tried!) grated in, and a dash of soya sauce. Good stuff. :)
