I found this recipe here

www.veganvillage.co.uk/recipes/chocfudge.htm (http://www.veganvillage.co.uk/recipes/chocfudge.htm)

It was easy to make with the added bonus of containing no eggs as it is vegan. It makes a lovely moist cake.

I knew that you would like it Goose :lol2: When I baked it I found it only needed 40 minutes when the temperature was lowered ie the second stage of the cooking process. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks Copper, sounds wonderful. Can't wait to try it! Does it turn out like a sponge or more of a pudding/dense cake?

It is a while since I made one of these cakes but from memory it was a dense cake.

I hope you like it.

I hope it turns out ok.

I have not baked a cake for months as we are trying to be healthy :)

When I last baked a chocolate sponge I used a normal recipe and just substituted dairy free margarine for butter. If the recipe uses milk I use my Oatly milk.

oh it was lovely, i covered the cake in a chocolate icing that i found elsewhere.. 125g chocolate, 1tbs margarine, 1tbs syrup and a few tbs icing sugar all melted together. spread it inside the cake and all over it..... best chocolate cake ive had in 3 years dairy free, not a light fluffy cake; a nice dence stodgy one thatll go good with a load of dairy free custard over the top :)
