Thought I'd let you know I've found some Swedish Glace 'Cornetto' type ice creams in my local health food store. They're raspberry ripple flavour.
:) They're delicious!!

They seemed quite expensive but there's 6 in a box and they work out at about 80p each. Well worth it for a treat!!

I can remember going and buying proper Cornettos from the shop on a caravan site when I was in my teens and we thought that 50p was really expensive. So over 20 years later a dairy free one for 80p seems really good. I'll have to remember to have a look next time i'm in Holland & Barrett to see if they do them, do they do any other flavours?

I've tried those - they're nice although the cones aren't crunchy. My local health food shop sold them singly last year, although I dread to think how much they charged for them.

Jill, my independent health food shop just sold 'strawberry' ripple flavour, sorry I thought they were raspberry ripple.

I think Cornettos are about £1.10 each if you buy them singularly.

I bought a pack of 4 tofutu? Vanilla with chocolate and nuts cornettos last weekend from Holland and Barrett. They cost £2.50 and are pretty tasteless really. I don't think i'll bother again. The icecream was nowhere near as nice as Swedish Glace and the cornet was soggy well before i'd finished eating it.:thumbsdow

For something a little more healthy there are some new smoothie lolllies out made by Del Monte. They're quite nice, as far as smoothies go, and are refreshing. Sinsburys have them on half price at the moment - 99p for 3.

They sound quite nice, I tried smoothies for the first time when I was having trouble with my face/jaw/teeth the other week and I quite like them. I've been buying some from Aldi as they are only £1.09 a carton, alot cheaper than others I've seen - Orange & mango and Raspeberry & cranberry. I wonder if these would freeze ok?

You should be able to make lollies with it because it's supposed to be just fruit juices. I always thought that smoothies had milk or ice cream in them - they do in cafes - I was surprised that I could have them.

I'm back and bearing some rather exciting news about our favourite topic: Chocolate, in the form of ice-cream this time!!

In my local health food shop I came across Booja-Booja (same people who make the rather nice truffles) Chocolate ice cream. It's VERY nice:D
The man in the shop promised to take me out for a posh meal if I didn't like it!!

Thats something worth keeping an eye out for, although I must admit I do prefer vanilla and have never been a chocolate icecream fan. Do you reckon the man would take me out if I don't like it?:lol2:

This one tastes rather like melted chocolate to be honest:)

And stop stealing my men, it's very rare males even speak to me- wheelchairs seem to scare them off!!

That chocolate ice cream sounds very nice. I don't think much of the Swedish Glace chocolate ice cream. I bet we never see that nice ice cream down here - sigh.

Unfortunately, myself and the ice-cream are separated by several hours at the moment, but I will be returning to the shop soon, as it also stocks my favourite Alpro yoghurt flavour!!

Thanks for that link Claire. I now know that their Truffles contain coconut oil so I can't have them :(

I might ask the local health food shop if they can get this ice cream.

I'm going to be nice and seasonal again, I've just experienced B'Nice rice ice cream, it's lovely. http://www.beanieshealthfoods.co.uk/bnice.phpComes in chocolate, strawberry and vanilla (I've not tried the vanilla). The other two were very tasty. A non-dairy free friend was eating them, and said she couldn't tell the difference especially with the strawberry one.
I like my local health food shop, it gets all the nice things in!!

I've just seen that my local Tescos is now selling Toffutti chocolate ice cream as well as Vanilla Swedish Glace... November being the obvious time to introduce new ice cream ranges!! I don't know what is in it, but will have a look next time I venture into Tescos.
