What do you think is the best dairy-free chocolate you have tasted? I tried the Eskal chocolate at the weekend for the first time and it wasn't too strong but didn't have that artificial taste that some of them have. Someone also recommended Montezuma's - some of their chocolates are dairy free but I haven't tried them.

Isis Luxury Belgian Pralinoir. This is the only dairy free chocolate bar I have found that I could eat in one go, if I was not so self disciplined :lol2:

I agree with Copper - I really must buy myself some of that.

I'm also fond of the Swiss Organica rice milk one (tastes like Cadburys Dairy Milk, I think), and also Dairy Free Rice Crackle - I could quite happily eat the whole 50g bar in one go.

I've not heard of that Isis one before, where do you get it? I didn't like the dairy free rice crackle - it wasn't chocolatey enough for me!

Sisters have a habit of eating half the chocolates! I'm speaking from experience here. When I was small my sister received a box of Dairy Milk Chocolates and I decided to help myself to one, only thing is I heard somebody coming up the stairs as I was half way through eating one, instead of popping it all in my mouth I put the half back in the box. Then ran out of the bedroom and hid at the bottom of the garden. If i'd eaten all of it I wouldn't have been found out! As I said I was small!

I am very disciplined with chocolate.

Tesco were doing a taste test for some Canderel chocolate when we were there on Wednesday. We established that the plain version was dairy free so I sampled a square. It was not bitter. We had to buy a bar and it is in the fridge waiting for me. I did see a notice on the label "Excessive consumption may cause a laxative effects"

Don't say I didn't warn you :lol2:

Chocolate excitement here this morning: Mum told me she'd ordered me an advent calendar and it arrived this morning:D:D (only a month early, but never mind!!). A lovely dairy free Montezuma one, from 'A lot of chocolate' I don't know how much it cost, I know it wasn't cheap, but I don't actually want to know how much she spent!!
So I'm rather excited now, as I don't like Kinnerton chocolate so I'm delighted that another brand is being done:D:D

Lucky you Claire. Now then will you reable to resist opening it until december or are you going to start the countout down on 1st Nov?:lol2:

A guy at work, whose wife is vegan, brought in a catalogue the other week that had lots of dairy free chocolates in, so I ordered my self £11 worth of stuff i've never come across before. Can't remember exactly what I ordered but I did order some fudge, and some bars of chocolate with fruit and spices in them.

Claire - It sounds like you will enjoy your advent calendar :)

Jill - ordering all that chocolate sounds perfect to me. You will have to let us know what your ordered and what it tastes like. :)

Our new bed was delivered today, so I am looking forward to a good nights sleep tonight.

The only other excitement has been the carbon monoxide alarm going off. We had the gas board out to check the boiler which was ok.

We worked out that it was the gril but it only set the alarm off if used twice in a day  The gas board have been out again and we are waiting for the parts to arrive on Monday. Justin is coming on Monday afternoon to fix it.

We have has the gas board out so many times in the last two months, that we are on first name terms with a few of the lads now :lol2:

We were having a discussion about chocolate the other day (for a change) in relation to VAT and were thinking that it is not right that there is VAT on chocolate as it is food and not a luxury item! I am currently eating Chilli Chocolate spread from Atkins and Potts - all dairy free and absolutely delicious!

booja booja is so good you would never know it was dairy free, it also comes in 6 or more flavours.

Yuk Chilli chocolate sounds horrible. I don't do chilli :lol2:

Booja booja - I really must get round to trying some of their chocolate.

If VAT was removed we could all afford so much more chocolate.:lol2::lol2:

I do chilli, but am not really sure about chilli chocolate spread. I've just started my second tub of the chocolate spread that copper discovered in tesco - you're a bad influence Copper - but just for research, the second tub is just as good as the first:lol2: The buttons keep going down well too!

I had a look on the order form at work yesterday and i ordered some lemon turkish delight that is covered in dark chocolate, some vanilla fudge and some "Spirit of Marakesh" Swiss Organica Chocolate bars, can't remember what the spices in them are though.

I like booja booja chocolates but not the cocoa covering, not cheap but a nice treat at christmas.
