As I was ambling around Tesco with my mother last week I spotted some dairy free chocolate spread and small packets of dairy free chocolate buttons. They were on the Free from shelf. I did not have the energy to write the prices down. I will check them next week when I am in that store again.

NEXT WEEK!! I think chocolate spread and chocolate buttons need immediate investigation:lol2: Dairy Free Chocolate spread mmmm. I used to love proper chocolate spread! I used to eat it straight from the jar.

Bit like when I used to be able to have condensed milk. Open a tin for baking, use half for the millionaires shortbread recipe leave the other half in the fridge for another recipe, which never came to be as the condensed milk had been eaten!

I have a jar of chocolate spread from the Jewish deli. It is very nice on toast for breakfast. I will try the one from Tesco when I have finished this jar.

MMmmmmm chocolate buttons I might buy a packet to taste test them, just for the forum you understand :lol2:

I went to Tesco today and bought some of the Dairy Free Choocolate Spread and Buttons. The Spread is very nice, I've had two teaspoons of it just to taste (for research of course!). The first chocolate button I put in my mouth reminded me of cooking chocolate, but the more I had the better it was, rather a nutty sweet flavour.

I also bought some of the Free From Shortbread and Chocolate Chip Cookies. Shortbread is rather claggy in the mouth, Cookies hard and crunchy so I don't think i'll buy either of these again, but will finish the packets! These are wheat, gluten and milk free and don't have eggs listed in the ingredients.

Chocolate spread cost £2.35, Buttons 0.45p pack (bought 2 packs) Shortbread 0.96p (12 in a pack). Choc Chip Cookies £1.50 (9 in a pack).

They also had some Peach Alpro Deserts in the chilled section which I am not able to get in Morrisons where I usually shop.
