This shocking news item appeared in my BBC news email this morning: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7012794.stm

It basically says that there's not enough specialist allergy care and food labelling is inadequate. We could have told the government that.

I think we knew this already. The question is will anybody do anything about it. I won't be holding my breath.

I saw that on the news, and I agree I think I could have told them that.... It's like most problems in this country there isn't enough funding/interest for the number of specialists needed for each condition.

The article made it sound they like will, but I'm not holding my breath either.

I am sure I have heard similar stories before. I was more concerned by the story about the relatives of elderly people in hospital being told if they didnt go in to feed them they wouldn't be fed. Now that is shocking. The allergy thing - well doctors have only got to be interested and that would be a start.
