Can anyone help, I have been told that if you are dairy intolerant, its possible to have a reaction to beef, is this the case & has anyone ever had a reaction to gelatine made from cows
Thanks

I am lactose intolerant. I also have intolerances to other foods but gelatine is not one of them.
I have not heard of this connection before. I guess it depends if you are intolerant to the protein in milk. Then we would need to know if the protein in gelatine is the same as the protein in milk. That is a very specialised area of biology.

I have Googled and found that there have been two clinical trials on this subject. The conclusions were roughly this -
If you are allergic to milk then you might have a problem with beef that is not well cooked. (The proteins in the beef will be denatured (changed) when heated).
Children who had an allergy to beef were found to have the marker in their blood, which indicated that they would be allergic to dairy too.
I guess this means that there might be a connection for those people intolerant to dairy proteins too.
Maybe we need to know how the geltaine is made? I am not sure that I want to know. Most food items that I have looked at recently contain pork gelatine.

I am intolerant of beef - my stomach becomes bloated very quickly after eating it and I am not a pleasant person to be near as I get terrible wind! This is followed later by an upset stomach.
I am also dairy intolerant and have been told this is due to a reaction to whey. I have never considered gelatine before and don't think I have any problem with it, That said, there is definitely something else that doesn't agree with me - I get a headache if I eat Japanese snack type biscuits - my reading isn't very good so it is hard to find out what is in them but I think it is probably something like MSG.
Nevertheless, I will now pay attention to how I feel after gelatine and let you know.
