Hello All,
I noticed that Supermarkets are now selling Lactose free milk.
I am intolerant to Lactose.
I wondered if anyone has tried this milk??
I do not mind soya milk but its not the same on cereal - and for this reason I wondered whether this could be an option.

Yes I have tried that and it tastes ok. It is not lactose free. If you look at the small print I think it says something like most of the latose removed. There is a very very small percentage of lactose in that milk.
All you can do is try it and see how you feel. I can't use it anymore as my lactose intolerance got worse. I can't take any lactose at all. I even get ill if I have tablets which contain lactose :-(

I normally vomit within the hour after dairy, but Im fine with this milk... and comared to the soya alternatives... this tastes amazing... even my non dairy-free friends will have it.

As I understand it, it has most of the lactose removed, and an enzyme added to digest most of what's left. I can take at least relatively small quantities of it, like in tea, or use it for cooking, and the taste is far better than soya [yuk!], oat, or rice, which all have too much of a non-milk flavour to suit me.
