Hi everyone, I wonder if you can help me.
I've been taking 500ml cartons of long life soya milk to work for my tea as I can't ask them to pay for it for me!
The pack says once opened use within 5 days but this seems quite wasteful as I probably drink about half of one in a working week.
Do you think it would be 'safe' to keep it longer - it is in the fridge?

Have you tried freezing some? If it does not curdle and go yukky once thawed out you could freeze half the carton.

I used to freeze Lactolite in a number of containers and then then take a weeks worth ie a container into work on Mondays.

When I used to be able to drink the fresh soya milk I kept it in the fridge and after about a week it went thick and smelly  I think that I used to freeze that too so a carton lasted well over two weeks. I hate wasting this expensive hard to find milk.

I will try freezing it as there is a little freezer unit at work! I know exactly what you mean - I hate waste.

Would another option be to drink more tea? I know this depends on where you work. But just a thought. I use litre cartons and only have them on my breakfast and I would say they last longer than 5 days. I didn't realise places still sold 500ml cartons as they seemed to dissapper not long after I started on soya milk.
