now, as a vegan, i would classify eggs as a dairy item and avoid like the plague :bleh: but, as far as allergy/intolerance is concerned, would one class them as dairy?
from what i can gather, a 'dairy' intolerance/allergy is usually milk.
my sis in law has been told to follow a dairy free diet, but does that include eggs too? as you all know, a restricted diet without milk and it's products as well as wheat would be easier if eggs were to be allowed.
she's put herself on a wheat restriction, as she was told that if her symptoms didn't clear up within a short time that when she eventually got her appointment with the consultant that is the first thing he would suggest anyway! milk etc free helped but not totally and having done some research she thinks that it's very likely that she is wheat intolerant too so has restricted it so that she is 'clean' for 2 months before her appointment.
i know that all intolerances/allergies are different from person to person and that the consultant should be telling her exactly what her diet should and shouldn't contain, but in general terms, are eggs classified as 'dairy'?
