Answered on behalf of miy kids............

1. How old are you?
Under 10 (x 2)
2. How long have you been lactose intolerant?
All life - genetic condition
3. Are there some foods which you are able to have that contain small amounts of dairy?
My children are actually unable to have galactose. The body breaks down lactose into galactose and glucose, hence it is easier to say lactose free diets. Interestingly the Galactosaemia society has tested a number of specific cheeses and concluded for some (very specific ones that tend to have a longer maturity) the levels of lactose and galactose has reduced to a level, where the benefit derived from the calcium etc outweighs any very low level exposure to galactose. Refer to http://uk.galactosaemia.eu/ if anyone is interested.
4. Are you aware of novel food products/alternatives available for a dairy free diet?
Not until, explanation below, but my kids have lots of soya based substitutes.

If you answered no, then novels foods are foods designed to be dairy free such as ice creams, milks and yogurts. Alternatives could be things like rice milk which are not designed to be dairy free but are a good substitute for dairy foods.
5. Do/would you eat them as part of your diet?
Yes. They especially like the soya milk type chocolate available now in many supermarkets. Alpro products are also great
6. If yes, how often?
More than once a day
7. If you answered no to question 5, why not?
N/A
