Whilst browsing Tesco's online I've discovered that Alpro now do a soya soft cheese. Not sure if it's widely avaliable, but thought I'd let people know if anyone is interested.

Haven't tried it myself so can't vouch for it's taste!!

Hi again I haven't posted for a while but have Dairyfree as my homepage and saw 'Alpro Cheese'. I'm definately going to look out for that as I do like all the other Alpro brand foods. Has anyone been having problems getting the Alpro pouring cream? No-one seems to stock it around here now.

Thanks Claire, that will be worth keeping an eye out for. I know Alpro/Provamel are meant to be updating some of the products. I recently discovered the Dark Chocolate deserts which are rather yummy. I don't like the new mocha flavoured ones however as they are rather sweet.

Hiya can i join in...

There are quite a few soya and alpro stuff in Holland and Barret..I get my yogherts there, and they stock cream spread dairyfree cheeses too..I also get those yummy caramel yogerts there too..Tescos are good cos they do all flavoured yogerts like those pineapple and raspberry yogs,, more variety...

I've been looking out for the Alpro cheese but haven't been lucky yet.

I looked on the website and the Alpro pouring cream now comes in a tub (like normal single cream) and is in the chilled dept, whereas it was 'long life' and kept with the UHT soya milk before.

Oooh yes, I saw that in Morrisons when I was back at home, and as I don't like cream it went in one ear and out of the other sorry, but I can confirm it is in shops.

I have not noticed it in Tesco but then I scoot past the cream in the chiller section :). I can't tolerate soya cream any more so it has to be oat cream for me.

Well I got some alpro cheese - I usually buy the toffitee (i think thats what its called) which I love - the herb on and the caramalised onion ones are great
anyway .... I digress.... I opened the cheese and spread it on a cracker........... it was horrible. :yucky:I love the yoghurts and the cream the do but I have to say the cheese went straight in the bin :yucky: sorry. i hope that everyone else feels differently
I still havent found the lactose free cheese - the website says Asda Tesco and Sainsbury stock it but they dont round here .... hey ho :):)

Hi I haven't posted for ages but still read the posts as I have this site as my home page.

I still haven't found the Alpro cheese, but found the lactofree one in Asda, but haven't tasted it yet.

I read on my Pure marg tub that Pure are bringing out a range of cheeses soon.

I tried something called cheddarese which was disgusting and tasted of wotsits..
does any dairy free cheese actually taste like cheese?

When I could eat cheese alternatives, before I developed a soya intolerance, I never found any that tasted like cheese.

All you can do is taste them all and find one you like the taste of and forget about trying to find one that tastes like cheese. :(

I've got used to the toffuti cream cheese and slices, but only eat them in things like macaroni cheese and cheese and ham toasties.
