Food allergies
A number of foods are known to cause reactions in some sensitive individuals and the most common are: wheat, gluten, dairy, soya, egg, fish, nuts, maize, citrus fruit, tomatoes, chocolate, tea, coffee, cola drinks, alcohol and artificial additives (some artificial additives, for example, are thought to cause hyperactivity in sensitive children).
If you think you might suffer from food sensitivity, visit your GP, who may run tests to try to establish the cause of your symptoms. In the case of food allergies, you should ideally be referred to an allergist.
