Hi, Im new to this site so all advice gladly recieved.

Recently moved to France with my other half and he is lactose intolerent. Can anybody tell me if there is an alternative to creme fraise???

If your really clever you might know the answer in French !!!

Hi Kirsty and welcome.

I am not really clever at all when it comes to speaking French. did manage a 2 week holiday there this year dairy free. Went Ok as mostly self catering on a house swap. Most restaraunts were ok but ended up getting lots of butter on my potatoes in one place. My intolerences are quite wide ranging so I dont bother with alternatives and cant help you with your question.

The nearest thing I have found is Alpro plain soya yogurt and the dairy free creams. They don't taste anything like creme fraise but are ok when you get used to them. They can be mixed with a beaten egg and cooked as sauce for pasta, etc and flans.
