I love cheese, but it hates me! So I have been testing out various cheeses for years and found a few I like [all soya]:
Cheezly, by Redwood Foods [I think that is the company name. I get it from Holland and Barrett]. They make loads of types but I've only ever found Cheddar [yum] and Mozzarella [hm...]
Tofutti. Spread, various types.
Bute Island. I've tried the smoked cheddar hard and soft cheeses. A bit too strong for me but other people may love it.
Also:
Rice Dream milk. Yum. You can get it with added calcium.
Sojasun soya yoghurt with added probiotics.
I just thought this info. might help people. I will probably add to this post when I think of other things :) There is a type of double cream I get at Sainsburys [made by another company] but I can't remember the name, I think its Granovita, but I will check
I went to Sainsburys and the cream is called SojaSaane [by Granovita].
I also love Hemp 9 Bars by Wholebake [carob topped bars of pumpkin, sunflower seeds, honey] and Siesta Bars by D & D chocolates [pure carob bars].

Yep Granovita rings a bell.
My fav dairy free stuff are Marks and Spencers soya, Vanilla swedish Glace ice cream and sort of magnum style ice lollies.
The Markies soya is nice and sweet and goes in all coffees no bother. :)
I was pretty horrified to hear that my favourite Green and Black's, Maya Gold got milk now!!, however I can manage some milk, just not much though. Will have to get through my stash of Green and black's from Christmas a bit slower than I thought!
Someone I know actually contacted G&B's about this, and they haven't actually changed the ingredients, but because it's made in the same factory as the other products, they were concerned about the chance of cross-contamination and therefore took the decision to list it as containing milk.
So I think basically if it hasn't affected you before then you're probably still safe.
Thanks! That's good to know. :) The amount of choc I got for Crimbo, I'll still be eating it at Easter! I've since noticed in the list of ingredients the amount does look pretty negligable.
Cheers!

www.dieteryneedsdirect.co.uk (http://www.dieteryneedsdirect.co.uk)
this is a great supermarket website that deliver food to your home. once on the site you can shop by diet for your own needs i.e dairy free or Gluten free and it brings up a list of foods. all of it organic and almost all of it sutable for veggies. I found it very useful - its worth a look as they have over 500 Dairy free products.
Also Ive had a realy bad cough so wanted some boiled sweets. A friend of mine was going to the shop and said he would get some. Bless him he asked at every outlet if they were Dairy free and every shop said 'no' they couldnt guarenteee that their boiled sweets contained no dairy!!! this is because they can not guarentee that the sweets were not made in a factory that can be classed as dairy free even though their would not be any milk products in the fruit sweets. Eventually he got some from Thorntons but even they said they couldnt guarentee that they had not been contaminated
Cheers for the dairy free website info. That's great! Will check that out right away! :)

Here is another website you may like to try, we also sell frozen. I was interested to read your opinions on the dairy free cheese as well.

Thanks very much for the website address!!!!! :)
I've been looking out for the dairy free cheese from Alpro and Lactofree I've been hearing about, but no joy, unfort. Anyway, I'm off to have a big bowl of Swedish Glace Mmmmm! and I have discovered Askey's Crackin choc sauce is dairy free too! :p You can get it in the supermarkets. It's like Ice Magic I used to have as a kid. (Goes hard in the fridge. Wow!!!!). Look forward to seeing the website.
Thanks again. Susan

I use Dietary Needs Direct, they are brilliant, the woman who invented the site [Pippa?] is very helpful and the delivery drivers are too. I haven't used it in a while, I've been managing on supermarket products and also cutting down on expensive 'special diet foods' because of the credit crunch. The trouble is, then I'm left with little to eat- what do you do, spend money on lovely but expensive foods, or manage on rice cakes etc? The eternal dilemma.
I feel I should warn people about the other site www.goodnessdirect.co.uk (http://www.goodnessdirect.co.uk) however. I looked on this a few years ago and read their info. It turns out this site is run by a cult! I looked recently and they have mysteriously removed this information, but be warned!

The religious info is still there. If you scroll to the bottom of the page and look on the right there are some boxes, the "charitable giving" reveals more about their religious side.
I particularly liked their description of being a "close-nit group" It should be close knit :)

I noticed they gave a huge amount of their profits to the Jesus Army - put me off too, especially as their stuff is so expensive!
