 Hello Hope you don't mind me asking how did you find out your baby was lactose intolerant, I have a 8 month old who is reacting badly to milk but i don't know if it is the lactose or protien, every one on this site is fantastic and will help as much as they can don't worry there is lots of food the children can eat it just takes a while to get used to it oh and about twice as long to do the shopping looking for hidden ingredients good Luck Lisa

Hi there

If you go on to Amazon there are a lot of dairy free books that can be purchased. Maybe they are not suitable for a baby.

My local WH Smiths stores also has a wide range of books, which you could have a look at their suitability before purchasing.

I have got one called Great Healthy Food - Lactose-free Over 100 Recipes Using Easy-to-find Ingredients: by Lucy Knox; Sarah Lowman, and its got a chapter on children's meals.

HI- my 14 month old is lactose intolerant, there is a book the dairy free diet plan for adults and children which has a load of good recipies. What I tend to do is use the normal books and substitute the milk with the special formula my son drinks(or almond milk he loves that in cakes) and use the yellow pure in place of butter. Haven't found a cream substitute yet as my son is also soya intolerant so can't have soya dream. Alternativley you culd try the Organix baby foods as they are mostly if not all dairy free.

Good Luck

Hi there Julie,

Welcome to the site. You will find that everyone here is friendly and always willing to help. I am unable to give information on babies as have only been dairy free due to intolerances for 8 years, and have no medical knowledge on this.

However I am able to supply information on Suppliers and products available (especially cheeses!). If you ever need some support please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards and good luck.

Lan.
