View Full Version : Swedish by Winner (another soft cheese)
I spotted this in Asda the other day. It comes in a similar tub to philadelphia and is made by the same people as Swedish Glace ice cream so it should be worth trying.
I'm on a diet at the moment so I didn't buy any but thought I'd pass the info on.
Hi Pam,
I'm on a diet again. Good luck with yours. I love the free from soft cheese from Sainsburys and have given it up also.
Does anybody else know of any low fat dairy-free cheeses? At least then me and Pam could have some on our diet.
Thanks,
Lan.
I have used this Swedish soft cheese for along time, I think it is cheaper than the Sainsburys one. From what I can remember they tasted the same. I think it tastes the same as Philly and I have also used it in a cheesecake. I used to be able to get in Tesco aswell as Asda, but tesco haven't had any lately. I think it cost 98p from asda?

Jill, I think I posted somewhere on the site that I had a letter from Winner and they said there will be a 6 month break in production of this cheese as they are moving factories. Their ice cream will not be affected. Sorry!! Linny
There was some in Tesco the other day but it only had a couple of weeks date on it. How long a date does it usually have and how long can you keep it once openend? I don't think Tofutti has a 'use within x days of opening' and always has a long best before date, but philladelphia has to be eaten within 3 days.

Hi Pam, my parents got me some Swedish soft in Asda and it's nice. The date on this is 10.5.04. I can't find any mention of 'use by' either! I presume it's okay until it goes hard or starts growing green furry stuff!!!!! Have a nice weekend, Linny
