Thought I'd start a new thread as it used to be. They now put whole milk powder in all of their bars!
It really irritates me. I remember when Bounty first did that and I wrote to them saying that they were losing out on a market. They replied that they wanted to make it more accessable to people who didn't like dark chocolate?????? I mean is that not what milk chocolate bounty is for???

I can't find this information on their site. I have heard about the possible cross contamination. See your chocolate thread.

I've just checked the ingredients, and you're right, even the 85% bar contains milk powder. How annoying, that's normally a staple for me. I can recommend M&S organic fairtrade dark chocolate as an alternative, it's lovely.

I will try that one! I still love Fry's chocolate cream though it does contain soya. They explain that the recipe hasn't changed they have put it on there for ethical reasons because it is made on a line that has milk chocolate on it. Still not willing to risk it myself! The info is under FAQ's on their home page!

I rememeber when this first came to light in 2008? that they said if you have been ok eating their chocolate then you will still be ok. They have not changed the recipe.
This does not help anybody who has not eaten their chocolate before and reads the labels.
I am currently eating some yummy chocolate from Waitrose.
See this thread for yet more chocolate :lol2:

i had a look at one of their plain chocolate bars and it just says that their plain bars contain dairy as at the present time theyre made on the same production line as milk chocolate bars.
found a nice bar of completely dairy free plain chocolate in holland and barret i think it was called 'free from' or something..
