I have seen a write up in the "Echo" about that shop. I have not viisted it yet as it is a bit of a trek from Poole.
I have discovered the delights of the unofficial (don't ask) Jewish deli in Bournemouth. This is at 7 Hodenhurst Road - very close to the Lansdowne. The lady in there was most helpful and told me that if I could not find anything I should ask. I am spoilt for choice in there - cheese, chocolate spread, ice cream and Richs cream. I can't believe that I have finally managed to get hold of this cream.
I did venture into Sainsburys today - I haven't missed much. I did buy three types of free from chocolate bars to try, not all at once of course :D
i shall have to try the deli, see what they've got which is wheat free aswell. will i find out what the unofficial bit is about? hell it'll make the trip more exciting.

Hey Matt - don't get too excited :) In a nutshell Jews have very strict food laws, so all food sold in the official deli (up the other end of Holdenhurst Road has been checked at all stages of production by a Rabbi. In the unofficial deli not all foods have been checked in this way. It will only bother the orthodox Jews.
I went in there today at lunch time and it was quiet. You should be aware that the shop will be shut for various Jewish holidays, also closes early Fridays and all day Saturday. It does open on Sundays though :) Currently their stocks are lower than usual as they have their Passover food in at the moment. Some of the Passover food is ok for us too. Some things have the ingredients in Hebrew so we have to ask if it contains dairy.
hey let me get excited. it's another shop to try. trust me i've little else to do with my days! and now the prospect of learning some hebrew!!!
i often go to bournemouth as i live in fordingbridge so not far. if they've got something ideal if not well it was a day out.
cheers :D
