View Full Version : Dairyfree online shopping
Where (if) do people shop online for dairy free products without paying through the nose?
I've seen a few dairy free specific sites, but some seem expensive...

I am put off by the cost of postage.
I rely on Tesco, Sainsburys and a health food shop. I try hard to buy things that "normal" people eat as they are not expensive.
I make my own puddings and cakes.
Tescos, sainsburys and just use their dairy free stuff. As Copper does I just learn what 'normal' food I can eat and go with that. Dietary needs direct isn't massively expensive for light weight stuff, and alotofchocolate.co.uk is reasonable for chocolate that's DF.

i do all my shopping online, i use tescos weekly and have found some decent dairy free products at reasonable prices.. quite a few i wont buy as their to expensive though. i will say that tescos ingrediants on their websites are not brilliant, i have bought loads of things that dont have dairy on the lists and when i get them they do..
i had a look on sainsburys website a while back after a reccomendation, then i found the sweedish glace neopolitan ice cream, i got two tubs to try. think their 1.25ltr and about three quid so not that bad on price, not compared to ben & jerries anyway and it was really nice.. first ice cream in years i was in heaven
in general though i have found that stores own brands do tend to be dairy free and have the bonus of being chepaer

I USE SOYA MILK AND STORK BLOCK MARGARINE ( THE BLOCK CONTAINS NO DAIRY THE TUB CONTAINS BUTTER MILK) THIS WAY MY SHOPPING IS CHEAPER I CAN GET DAIRY FREE MINT CHOCOLATE AND SWEDISH GLACE ICE CREAM FROM HOLLAND AND BARRETT . I CAN ALSO GET DAIRY FREE CHOCOLATE FROM ASDA AND TESCO. THE SWEDISH GLACE ICE CREAM I CAN ALSO GET FROM TESCO.

IF YOU USE STORK BLOCK MARGARINE INSTEAD OF BUTTER AND BAKING IS JUST THE SAME BUT MUCH CHEAPER THAN THE ALTERNATIVES USE SOYA MILK INSTEAD OF COWS MILK IT WORKS JUST THE SAME AS MILK AND IS CHEAPER THAN OTHER ALTERNATIVES.

Just a warning that I and my eldest daughter have developed a soya intolerance since going dairy free.
It is probably a good idea to not replace all dairy with all soya. Better still might be a an alternative milks rotation eg oat one week, soya the next. I hesitate to mention rice milk as it makes coffee taste like hot rice milk
