Hi and welcome. A dairy free diet is hard when you first start but does get easier.

You need to double check for hidden dairy in the ingredient lists on jars, packets etc.

Please look at the list of alternative names for dairy here

http://www.dairyfreeuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=738

Others here have found it helpful to print the list and take it to the supermarket just to check that foods are ok.

Your daughter might have other intolerances which will become evident now she is eating food.

It might be best to try and not introduce too many new foods at once. Leave a few days between trying a new food and then trying another new food. That way if she is unhappy we can hopefully narrow down what other foods are causing a problem.

I would try and give her plain and simple things. In my day (many years ago :lol2:) we just minced down what we were eating and my daughters survived.

If you are using margarine you need to be aware that most contain dairy! You need to use Vitalite (hard to find these days) or Pure. I would use the Pure in a yellow tub as the Pure in the green tub contains soya. The Stork block margaine (in a wrapper) is dairy free and good for baking.

I am not sure which bread you can use as I bake my own in a breadmaker. You will have to check the ingredient lists on the packets of bread.

If you used lactose free formula for her when she was younger you can use that to make custard and pour on cereal for breakfast.

I hope that this helps a little.

I am sure that you will have more questions so do ask and we will do our best to answer.

It is possible she has a fructose intolerence - not uncommon in people with lactose intolerence apparently.

I used to make ice cube trays of pureed veg and then cook these up with baby rice
(spinach, carrots, brocolli, sweet potatoe, peas, beans all went down well)
mine did not eat much at 7 months as still mainly getting by on breast milk, they both started eating more solids at 8 months on.

Keep a food and reaction diary - it will be helpful info as she gets older and may help with future trips to hv and gp.
