I have copied this from another site because I thought it might help someone:
(from Customer Services at Kinnerton regarding their dairy free eggs)

Even though Easter has now passed, I thought it only fair to alert you to the fact that we have received two calls from people to whom we personally sent Dairy Free/Nut Free Easter Eggs telling us that their child had an anaphylactic shock after consuming part of this product.

At this point in time we are investigating these complaints as the Eggs were made from the same chocolate as our Nut Free/Dairy Free chocolate bars (which both the children concerned have previously eaten and enjoyed) and the same chocolate as out Dairy Free Eggs have been made from over the last two or three years and which, as many of you will know, were last year available from Sainsbury.

We obviously take these complaints extremely seriously and have asked both the people concerned to return the remains of the Egg and its packaging to us so that we may undertake a full investigation and independent analysis and try and come up with some answers. We obviously need to know that our systems are working and perhaps it also begs the question – ‘Should we be doing this?’

If you have any feedback to offer we would obviously be glad to hear from you.

Yours sincerely

GILLIAN PHILLPOT
Customer Services Manager

Regarding "should we be doing this" I would urge everyone to reply to Kinnerton to say yes, because dairy free chocolate is few and far between and we trust them to investigate the matter properly and resolve it for future dairy free production.

Hi Pam,

Thanks for the information and will put it on the front page, as a news item.
