Hi there! i'm kookie, and i've been dairy AND wheat free for the past 4 years. I had been really ill for two years before then, and my doctor couldn't figure out what was wrong till I read a book about IBS.
Well, I did the exclusion diet, and turns out i'm dairy and wheat intolerant!
Anyway, I'm coming up for 25, i'm from dundee in scoaltand, and now i have my life back on track, i have returned to uni to study business.
hopefully, when i graduate, i'll open my own restaurant, and concentrate on mainly allergen free foods at an affordable price. how hard IS it to find a place where you can eat if you have allergies?!
anway, yeah.. Hi!
Hi Kookie,
I'm from South Wales and the owner of the website. I am so glad that you have returned to Uni and wish you all the luck for the future.
I am actually bringing in milk at the moment as I have been intolerant for 8 years and wish to find out, what part of the milk is the problem.
If there is anything we can do for you to help with your diet, or just give you someone to talk to, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Keep in touch and let us know how it goes.
Kind Regards,
Lan.
Hi Kookie
I know how hard it is to buy food when you're out with only one allergy, to need food free from more than one allergen must be a nightmare. So welcome to the site, I hope you get lots of useful information here.
My daughter is milk intolerant and although I didn't have major problems with milk I decided to cut it out of my diet and felt so much better. I'm now considering doing the same with wheat as I suffer so much bloating and discomfort (and probably some degree of IBS) but I'm finding the whole prospect quite daunting.
Thick question for you here, but are semolina and couscous banned on a wheat free diet? I'm a bit confused as to which grains are wheat free and which are gluten free so any links or information would be very useful.
Thanks.
