Hello.
I know food is labelled quite well, and its fairly easy to check for milk or dairy in the allergy warnings, but I'm not sure about drinks.
For instance, I drink vodka and coke, does coke use any dairy? I can't find any info online.
Do drinks have to label allergy warnings? If it doesn't say contains dairy or gluten, is it safe?
Thanks.

I have just been to Tesco and made a detour down the soft drinks aisle. I checked four different drinks at random and they were all labelled with ingredients and allergy boxes where appropriate.
Alcoholic drinks contain gluten if they have been made using fermented grain.
I found this info
Beer, lager, stouts and ales are made from grain containing gluten, but other alcoholic drinks such as wine, cider, sherry, spirits and liqueurs can be included in the gluten-free diet.

Can I drink Alcohol?
No, not if it's beers or lagers, because these come from a gluten grain. Rum, Brandy, Wines and Ciders are fine. Alcohol itself probably does not bring on the damage associated with CD, and may even suppress some of the symptoms by making you feel "good" (Drunk!).
Remember with spirits, gluten should have been eliminated during distillation, but with malt whiskey the malt has been re-added and, the vodka you buy at the 'super' isn't the original type of vodka...unless you shop in Moscow and may well be a cheap grain type vodka. so take care.. be drink aware!

It looks like vodka might be a no no then.
I hope this helps.
