split any coupons/ discounts you get at the show!!

i'll be back online before 4pm today then tommorrow morning very early.

shame to waste the tickets.

Lucky you, where did you win them? I'd love to go but unfortunately it is too far for me and I'm booked up for this weekend anyway. School summer fair on Saturday and father's day on Sunday so we're off to a steam rally weather permitting.

If anyone does go, please take note of any new dairy free products and report back!

won them from bbc good food mag, quick online competition. i never really expected to win so i've other things to do. plus bit too much hassle for me with my problems and not liking crowds etc.

not the netley marsh steam rally?? surely? will be avoiding the area like the plague. good rally usually but a bugger for traffic!

seriously folks someone take me up on this. iall i have to do is email you this form they've sent me with a reference number. and you get in with a friend for free. all i ask is like pam you let us know any good things.

valid for any day friday sat or sun. i'll keep looking at site to see if anyone says yes.

hopefully it'll be worth the trip sometimes these type of things are a waste of time, but be positive. maybe someone'll be there with some great new products.

Hi all,

Thanks for the tickets Matt as am definitely going up on Sunday, not looking forward to the 2 1/2 hours drive either way though. Oh well.

This is only an idea but have been thinking of creating a newsletter, which I would then e-mail to all members who wish to receive it. It would give you updates and all members would be able to post things in it. No medical advice would be given however. I would love to hear your opinions on this and see what you think.

I thought that all the information I receive from this Allergy Show could be the basis for the first newsletter, which would be sent at 3 monthly intervals, hence, giving me more space and time to write, edit and release it.

Would love to hear from anybody else who may be going to the show, as we could possibly meet up. Would be nice to put faces to names.

Kind regards and thanks for the swift reply Matt.

Leanne.

P.S. Look forward to reporting back.

newsletter sounds like a good idea. give it a go. always fun to have something else to read. what we need to do is get a doctor or nutrician etc to join. not necessarily for advice but so that they get an idea of the problems we have. a way to put our thoughts and problems back to the proffesionals. so anyone know any computer literate healthcare types?

meantime enjoy the show, will await the news and gossip. take a camera and post any good shots of the show and any meetings with others from site.

Yes I like the sound of the newsletter too. Could we have a taste test in each issue? Obviously we couldn't all get together to compare products but if everyone who'd tried various products from a range sent in their comments it would provide some indication of which products were worth buying.

Hope you enjoy the show, I can't wait to hear all about it.

A newletter! What an excellent idea Lan :) I like Pam's idea of a taste test too. Bringing new products to our attention would be helpful.

Hi all,

Thanks for all the wonderful ideas for the newsletter and keep them coming. I feel that everyone should have a voice and be able to add opinions/comments etc to the newsletter. The more experience the better.

I was also thinking that we could possibly have photos in there, but of course i have to design the newsletter first. Any more ideas will always be welcomed.

Will keep you posted on the allergy show and about the manufacturers attending. Will be leaving at 6:30am and getting home late, so will try and post a message on Monday after work.

Take care all.

Lan.

We could also nominate a shop, supermarket or restaurant to receive a virtual award in each edition too or maybe have a thumbs up/thumbs down list for those who are really good at stocking or supplying dairy free food and information or otherwise.

By the way, talking of publications, this site got a mention in this month's edition of Foods Matter (www.foodsmatter.com) which unfortunately is only available by subscription. But this month there is quite a lot of dairy free info. They have monthly taste tests, new product info, recipes, advice page, articles and info on forthcoming conferences, seminars and shows. It covers all sorts of food allergies so is ideal for anyone with multiple allergies. I'm not on commission by the way. (If they are at the show you might get some freebie copies Lan).

Hi all,

Went to the Allergy Show yesterday and enjoyed it. Firstly I went to see a seminar on food allergies and intolerances, which was great. We were told that the full presentation will be typed up and added to a website, the link of which I will add in my article when typed up. I also took notes to add when typed, as the full presentation will apparently take ages to get on there.

I then left the seminar and hit all the stalls. There were many there such as Vance's Darifree (very nice, yet different potato milk), provamel (ate them out of yoghurt) and many others. Have got loads of information of which i will be adding to the website, over the next few months.

It was a great day and nice to meet people with food allergies/intolerances face to face. As you can see from the photo attached the Trufree ginger snaps also went down a treat.

Everyone was very helpful there and had tons and tons of information available. It will probably take me a few years to sort it out.

I will definitely type up all my notes in the next week and if you would like to know what manufacturers attended, click on the link below.

Kind Regards,

Lan.
