Pritchitts have recently introduced soya milk mini pots (the single serving plastic containers that you see in motorway services etc) under the name of Soya Maid. These are currently only available in boxes of 120 pots and are aimed at the catering industry but I think they would be great for anyone who would like to drink tea or coffee away from home. Apparently Pritchitts are currently looking at the possibility of producing them in smaller quantites for individuals. I got really excited when I heard about them (sad fool that I am) as I have previously pestered Provamel to produce something similar.

Maybe if you eat out somewhere regularly or know of any vegetarian restaurants you could persuade them to buy some.

Hi Pam,

Thanks for this information. It is nice to see that manufacturers are taking note of what allergy sufferers are dealing with.

This item could be great for allergy sufferers around the country, especially when travelling.

Please keep us up-dated on this.

Soya milk on Trains

There is a campaign to get these pots available on trains.

Please see www.worldveganday.org for the latest.

Message from Ronny/Pritchiitts;

"Just a quick note to let you know that South West Trains have recently enquired about Soya Maid and I am sending them some free stock so that they can do a onboard trial in May. If demand is significant they will stock it as a permanent line!"

Realfood.org.uk is a new vegan website which with Veggies of Notts started up the campaign to persuade companies to stock the soya milk pots and dairy free marge.
Please check our website for contact details of whom to contact and information about companies who already stock one or both of the above items.
If you get any replies from any companies please let us know.
Please note however that the train companies franchise out their catering and we are currently researching who the best people are to contact, as the train companies are sending out a standard reply of 'contact the caterers'.

I have just been told by my supplier that Pritchitts are no longer producing Soya Maid mini pots :o . This is a huge disappointment to me and no doubt to many other dairy free people. I tried e-mailing them to ask why but my e-mail was returned :angry: . Does anyone know anything?

Perhaps we should all start a campaign to pester other milk producers into making mini pots and making them more available to the general public. From the enquiries that I have had there is certainly a huge demand for them.

UPDATE

I have just received an e-mail from Pritchitts to say that they have not discontinued Soya Maid and they still sell them in packs of 120. I will endeavour to track some down.
