I've been looking for Milk and Egg free Jaffa cakes (or similar) for ages but haven't found any. Wondered if anyone else has had any luck.
I can find dark chocolate biscuits, I can find ginger cake, I can find Apple cake. All of which are Diary free. A combination of the above is what I'm looking for.
Michael
Hi Michael,
Have not found any jaffa cake products as am also allergic to orange. You could do a search on:
Goodnessdirect (http://www.goodnessdirect.co.uk)
as they may have some alternatives.
If I find any I will certainly post them on the website.
Kind Regards,
Lan. :D
do your feet a favour. make them yourself. either from scratch or by buying the various bits and assembling. tangerine jelly, plain chocolate then either sponge from shop or make little sponge cakes.
just a suggestion. likely to taste better than anything you'll buy.
Co-op Jaffa cakes are labelled as milk free and are listed on their milk free list (on their web site). Tesco value jaffa cakes have no sign of milk on the packaging either. Unfortunately I don't know if they contain egg.
Ask your local supermarkets for their free from lists. Although these aren't always up to date they might give you an idea of what is available.

Tesco value Jaffa Cakes are not egg free - I love them but have to keep them away from my daughter who is allergic to egg. I'm afraid you'll have to keep looking.
Cheers.
Astra seemed to think that the Tesco jaffa cakes were suitable for vegans which would make them egg free too. I've just looked on the Co-op web site (http://www.co-op.co.uk) and unfortunately their jaffa cakes don't appear on the egg free list although they do get a mention on the milk free list. The lists are quite extensive for co-op own brand products so worth a look. From the home page you need to click on "I'd like some information" then choose "allergy and dietary food lists" and it gives you lots of special lists - dairy free, egg free, soya free etc, for some reason the individual pages don't have their own address. If you suffer multiple allergies you'll have to cross reference them, but at least it is a start.

Posted this in the other jaffa cake thread (we must really like jaffa cakes!) but thought it should be here too - the Tesco value jaffa cakes now list milk in the allergy box, but not in the ingredients of course.
Oh Bum!!! Tesco strike again!

Asda smart price jaffa cakes also now contain milk but their own brand ones are dairy free.

Is there an allergy box on the standard Asda ones Linny? Last time I went in there I didn't buy any and I think it was because I couldn't be sure they were ok.

Asda own brand jaffa cakes and the Smartprice ones now contain milk. :( But the good news is that the Co-op own brand ones don't! Well not the ones in stock at my local Co-op - but check as milk seems to be creeping into biscuits lately.
The Crawfords jam rings that I can buy at our local hospital shop now contain milk!!!:( When we went up there on Wednesday, my husband grabbed 3 packets and then I told him to check them and yes, they now contain MILK!!!! I'm going to go onto the United Biscuits site again and see if they've updated it. I can't seem to get the McV lemon and ginger digestives either, I've had to get the low fat ones. I don't need low fat anything at the moment as my stomach seems to dislike everything.:(
I've also found that Kelloggs Pop Tarts, strawberry flavour don't seem to contain milk - they're really nice, I've not had them before.

Its not the value jaffas from Tesco that are dairy free, its just the ordinary Tesco own brand jaffa cakes, I buy them every week and they were still dairy free as of last Sunday!
Hi all,
I used to love jaffa cakes, but unfortunately due to the orange, am unable to eat them anymore.

The single pack of standard range jaffa cakes I looked at today didn't list milk, but the triple packs did, and so did the value ones.

And in my opinion taste nicer than the ordinary branded ones (can't remember who makes them).
I agree, I can easily eat a whole packet of them in minutes!!
