I feel like I am :headbang: with Rhys. He was taking Neocate with the nesquik in ok up until the last 2 days and now I am lucy if he takes 10oz all day, I have even started to wake him at 11pm before I get in bed to get a bottle down him to make it up to 14oz in 24hrs.

He takes such tiny amounts, he was like this last time on Neocate and in the end he refused it totally. He takes 2oz some feeds and nothing for 6 hours then will only take 2oz again.

No idea what to do now, thought the nesquik was working ok. He doesn't seem any better on dairy free, infact he was taking more formula on the cow & gate even though he was full of wind and whingy, grr.

Any advice on what to do?

Try Wysoy and see if he prefers it.

I think you must have tried everything you can! I don't know what else to suggest. You don't seem to be getting much support from your doc or HV.
I think I would be trying to increase his solids more and trying to rely a little less on milk . I take it your other child had no probs like this.

:) No Dylan was fine, no probs with him. He fed like a right guzzler milk & food by this age, lol!

Rhys is settling down now alot more the last couple of days, he is taking about 15oz in 24hours sometimes 20oz so its not too bad and he is 6 months next week so im not that worried about the milk intake. He has baby juice/water inbetween feeds aswell.

Thanks

Julie

Fantastic! I stayed away from dairy for my eldest two for 18 months and I tended to make a lot myself in bulk and freeze for convenience.I did veg combinations and mostly fruit puree for pud, adding in fish and meat as they got older. I hope he is enjoys his food more than his milk! Lan has done a lot of research on childrens food and I am sure that will be invaluable to you. Don't forget to wear an apron! x;)

:) hi julie i do so much know what you are going through! my son ellis is now 8 months since he was 2 weeks old it was a battle ground to feed him tryed every brand of milk even had to go into hospital as he would only drink up to 2oz in a day what with the sickness and tummy upsets and screaming i still had no help with doctors or health visitors! i nearly had no hair left but the time i found out he had a milk and lactose intolarance went out and got some cow&gate infasoya from boots it costs about £8 but it was worth it when the first time he took nearly 5oz stright away my next battle was when it was feeding food time having to look at every label on the jars so instaed i stick to the 7 months packet food as most of them are milk free and i also brought a blender so he could have my own food like chicken and veg with baby gavery he loves it i also get provamel alpro soya yoguts for juniors from most health shops as he enjoys them after his dinner so i do hope this is some kind of help for you as i do know what you are going through as ive the same problem x

Hi all,

I can't advise on childhood allergies/intolerances as my allergies/intolerances came on me when I was 19. I can however suggest you visit the dairy free foods section (http://www.dairyfreeuk.com/forum/products.php?), which contains lists of foods for children which are free from alot of allergens.

Please always check labels before purchasing or consuming foods.

Kind Regards,

Lan.
