WARNING !!!!! not all Jam Tarts are the same (or are they?)
Yeah I know, I should have checked but I've been buying Mr. Kiplin or Co-op Jam Tarts for ages and they have always been milk and egg free.
Last week I bought Iceland Jam Tarts (which look identical).
After feeding my sons I noticed that the ingrediants list contains egg (clearly labeled so it was my fault for not checking).
Thinking the worse I prepared myself for a reaction from my son (he always reacts quite seriously). Epi-Pen at the ready with Piriton.
Nothing happerned.
Waiting for 4 hours monitoring him constantly (nothing). Stayed awake all night worrying it'll kick in when I'm sleep. Nothing.
Either these Jam Tarts do not contain Egg (is it possible they are the same as Mr. Kiplin but packaged differently, eg seconds) or my son is no longer allergic to egg (not a chance in the world) or that my son is allergic to egg but not to dried powdered egg.
I'm a bit worried now that if the ingredient list of the box aren't accurate then what's the point with an ingredients list (and it's obviously very important to me).
Another example of ingredient contradiction is that Mr. Kiplin apple cakes contains egg but Mr. Kiplin apple and blackcurrent cakes do not (HOW CAN THIS BE??)
