I am a little confused!!! I thought that Soda Bread was dairy free? I have been looking up recepies on the internet and they all contain buttermilk or plain yogurt.
Does anyone know if you could use soya or rice milk instead of the butter milk?
Thanks

You should be ok to just replace the Dairy ingredients with a non-dairy substitute. Most recipes will be fine when you do this but i have found that sometimes you have to experiment with the amount you use to get a good result.

I would just give it a try and see what happens.

My dietician recommended soda bread to me when it became apparent that my 4 year old was also intolerant of soya as well as milk (most breads have soya flour in them). it justs go to prove - dont trust anyone but yourself and check all labels regardless of what you're told.

I found rice milk to be a good substitute for cooking with and soya milk before I realised this was a problem as well. Rice milk I find does sometimes have a sightly sweet taste to it

Good luck!
