Seeing how it is so near to Christmas, I thought I would let you all know that Kinnerton and D & D chocolates are both supplying dairy free treats for Christmas.

Attached to this post is the D & D Chocolates Christmas brochure for their products.
Pam has also contacted Kinnerton and here is what they have to say about their Advent Calendars.
After consideration, we have decided to produce a ‘small’ quantity by hand again this year and these will be sent out on a first-come-first served basis. Once again we will do this ‘free of charge’ insofar as Kinnerton is concerned but we will again use the exercise to raise some funds for the Anaphylaxis Campaign who do such sterling work in the area of allergy awareness.
We therefore propose requesting a donation per calendar of a minimum of £5 plus £1 per order towards the postage and packing.
If you are interested, I would ask you to write to me as soon as possible telling me how many calendars you would like, whether they are for boys or girls and how old the children are (this will enable me to try and send a character that they will like) plus a cheque for each calendar ordered for at least £6 (only £1 of which will be retained by Kinnerton towards postage costs). Cheques should be made out to Kinnerton Confectionery.
Finally, for the sake of absolute clarity can I confirm the following:
The calendars will be dairy free and nut free and the ingredients used in the chocolate are cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa butter, emulsifier : soya lecithin, flavouring (vanillin). Cocoa solids 50% minimum.
In view of the small numbers involved the calendars will have to be packed in our normal cartons used for our milk chocolate calendars, so you should disregard the ingredients listed on the carton. The actual ingredients used will be those as stated above.
The calendars will be sent out on a first-come-first-served basis. We will try to send the most suitable character we can for the age of the child, but unfortunately we cannot guarantee any particular character.
Because these calendars are being hand-made it is not possible to produce the ‘foil covered’ type of calendar as these pass through a special sealing machine to stick the foil to the tray. The calendars will be the standard, unfoiled, ones and we will do our best to pack the calendars in as secure a way as possible but you will appreciate that it is possible for the chocolates to slip out of the recesses in the tray, and we regret we cannot take any responsibility for this.
On a brighter note, we are hoping that life will be easier for those of you wanting Dairy Free/Nut Free Easter Eggs as we have two in our range for 2005 and whereas last year not one major supermarket wanted to stock a Dairy Free Egg, for next year Woolworth, Sainsbury and Waitrose will be stocking these and we may yet be able to add to this list.
If I can be of any further help please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Yours sincerely
