View Full Version : Sauces of Choice
I have just discovered a shop in my village (Stephanies Pantry in Kirton-in-Lindsey, North Lincs) is selling Dairy Free products. They have a range of Sauces made by a company called "Sauces of Choice" - has anybody heard of them before. They are based at:
Unit 5 Lufton Heights
Yeovil
Somerset
BA22 BUY
The Sauce I bought is a Korma, it has no added sugar, dairy, wheat or gluten. Their was about 4 or 5 other flavours but at £2.35 a 350g jar I only bought the one to try.
I've just done an internet search and discovered this company has a website. www.saucesofchoice.co.uk. The £2.35 which I paid is the RRP, not cheap but as I can get them locally I don't mind paying a bit extra. Website is worth a look - they do a chocolate sauce aswell.
(I can just imagine what Matt is saying - its that lazy one again, why doesn't she get in the kitchen and make it herself! - Only joking Matt, its good to have a bit of a banter)

i see i'm getting accused again!!!:lol2:
my only problem with bought sauces is because i'm reluctant to spend money!! i get annoyed we have to pay twice as much if not more than others. wouldn't mind if they were twice as good. it's a bloomin rip off!
i would make the choc sauce at home though, using good quality choc the results are far far better.

I don't enjoy cooking and think this is because food doesn't really interest me that much. I can only put this down to the years of feeling ill as a child. Most of my childhood seems to have been spent feeling ill or being ill. I was a trial for my mother as she has a thing about vomiting.
I do (well did) enjoy chocolate, cakes and puddings - sigh all the things that contain lactose :(
why would choc cake and pudding have to include lactose?
i made my mum a birthday cake yesterday (it's tommorow but i'm busy today) choc sponge and "butter icing" all using dairyfree marg so no milk at all.
use a basic muffin recipe and include some lumps of plain choc to make them all gooey. etc hoe much you willing to pay? i'll make you one and bring it round!

In my usual short of time way I did not write enough about the cakes etc. I can bake muffins, cakes etc dairy free BUT I would much rather spend my time researching my family history :) I hate standing in Tesco peering at the labels of cakes to find about 3 that are ok for me.
I did have muffin baking sessions before my mother was ill. Ginger muffins are very nice:thumbsup: Once my mother can cope with domestic chores and the garden I should have more time to bake. I think that will be next Spring!!
i know where your coming from, it does become tedious at times to have to read the lists on new stuff.
found two things in tescos marching chocolate!!! 99p for 100g bar and their free from syrup pancakes  :naughty:
will be stocking up on the pancakes they're very scrummy!

These sound good - I will have to check my local Tesco when I go on Wednesday.
