Can anyone out there help me!!!!! PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
Need to find non dairy non soya cream substitute to put a smile on sons face at christmas. Trifel is his favorite but cant find anywhere that sells Oatly 'iMat' or 'Oatly Cuisine Organic' to put on top. Tried calling company, been to website contacted all companies that I could that are Oatly stockists !!!!! any ideas:rant:
i'm just throwing an idea into the fray, not really thought it through or tried it and i'm sure there's maybe a better product but here goes:
you could try to use oatly milk, sweetened and flavoured with vanilla or some other flavouring then use gelatine sheets. you just soak them in cold water then dissolve in the liquid you want to set into jelly by heating it. it should make a custard like jelly thing. i can't think why it wouldn't work. just an idea if no one else comes up with anything better.
:D
Sainsburys sell a dairy free cream alternative but I cant remember if it is soya free as well - I know my daughter has tried it in the past but not sure if this was before we realised she was soya intolerant as well. Anyway, I do remember its marketed as an alternative to single cream.
Its tough having a soya free diet as well - it really does limit the diet so much.
Have you tried asking at a local health food shop to see if they can order it for you? The small independent ones are usually the most helpful.
You could also try a jewish shop, I've heard that they sell a thick cream made by Rich or Riches but I don't know if it is soya free.
The soya alternatives to cream do not whip up to make a thick cream but I'm told that you can do it by adding gelatine sheets as Matt suggested.

.
Rich's Cream alternative has soya lecithin in it :(
I have found another cream alternative in my local Jewish deli. It was in the freezer and is in a bright yellow carton. It is a Haddar product and is a non dairy topping. Sadly it also has soya lecithin in it. I have not tried whipping this yet but if it does not whip up enough I will add some vege- gel (vegetarian alternative for gelatine).
The only cream I know of is Provamel Apro Soya which is a runny cream. Unfortiunately, as the same suggests, it contains soya lecithin. Have you tried www.goodnessdirect.com ?
They seel loads of products and maybe able to help. Good luck in the search. :D
Kind Regards,
Lan.
I had a look on there yesterday, Lan. They sell Oatly and First Supreme (oat milk) ice cream but no oat cream. I think you might have to go to the health food shops. If you go early this week they might still be ordering from the wholesalers before christmas. Holland and Barratt will order things in for you too and they should be willing to look in their catalogue to see if it is available.
