I have started the upgrade to the site

The forums are working at the moment but other features such as the arcade, articles, products and links are still missing and will be back very soon.

I had to log on and be redirected this morning - a bit scary because I'm hopeless at remembering all the user names and passwords that I have for the various sites.

Keep up the good work Steve, it will be nice to get the home page back again.

Things keep changing place, the newest messages have now jumped to the left, they were on the right last night. You're just keeping us on our toes aren't you Steve?

I think i'll have to set that so it places the boxes on the front page in random places every time :naughty:

Arcade is back online to all those interested.

Hi, I've just been on the arcade and I think the name against the high scores on some of the games have been put down as nicola22 instead of mine, as I'm sure that I was the only one that ever plays Zookeeper!! It looks like nicola22 has been very busy or I've had a name change! Also when I looked on my game statistics everything has gone back to zero and nicola22 has my statistics!! Linny

 Serious sulks now Steve, Kinmar has stolen all my scores too. I should be champion of Tetris, Bubbletrouble, Eggs and Airfox. Emmie26 seems to have sprung up from nowhere too to get loads of titles.

:taz:
What's happened?

Pam

I think Emmie26 should probably be Lindsay B as her and Linny had got most of the games covered. You and Lan still seem to have your own titles.

I was wondering where all the reputation had gone too? I used to be "Pam will become famous very soon" but now I've gone back down to being on a distinguished road like Lan has. I've been demoted :o or maybe Lan and myself have earned loads of bad reputation recently to put us down :crying:

I'll look into the arcade scores, but it may be easier if i just reset them.

For the arcade, i'm thinking of putting a minimum post limit to be able to play so it's only available for active members.

I'll take a look at the reputation to see if i can fix that.

I have a copy of the old site as well, so i can always manually set the reputation points if needed.

i don't know all the hassle for the arcade titles!!

quite like the new set up, can't say i've looked at the arcade. not because i don't like them just i don't trust myself. once started i doubt i'd stop. other things to do. and as regards my reputation! i wish i could clear my slate that easily in real life!

:lol2:

Matt, I need to have recognition for something that I've done in my life - even if it is only to be tetris champion! At school I always brought up the rear in races and was left until last when teams were picked - can't I have a bit of glory now?

I do get rather obsessive about games and played Eggs rather too much over 2 days until I had reached the champion status. Just goes to show what an exciting life I lead!

Hi Pam,

I was always useless at sport in school and trailed in last. I once got put in a race on sports day and you had to run in a circle five times. After the second time I was very tired to say the least and all others were friends so every time I caught up, they ran ahead of me. In the end I finished 5 minutes after everyone else. They called me names but I just kept on running and waving at all. Really enjoyed it. I guess?

Lack of enthusiasm in sport was down to suffering with knee problems for as long as I can remember. Hospital told me I had growing pains, but don't exist. Makes sense really.

Hope you are all ok?

Kind Regards,

Lan. :D

sport much over rated, torture for most kids. all praying they won't be last to be picked! i was never any good at school. got really fit for work and went to gym three times a week, running another three times and lot's of other stuff. now i have trouble walking a mile!

go ahead and play the games, i was only mucking about with the high scores, i was saying i better not or i'll be on them 24 hours a day.

enjoy

We're a right bunch of non-sportsmen aren't we? I can't understand some people's obsession with the gym, it goes far beyond keeping fit and becomes a total obsession to the point of being unhealthy, but I'm a bit of a couch potato. I do like to walk a lot during summer but I don't see the point in going out in wind or rain to be cold and uncomfortable when get to my destination.

I suppose we all have our obsessions but they don't really become a problem until they start interfering with other things in our lives.

Talking of sport, no I'm not athletic at all although I was in the school netball team many years ago! I do enjoy swimming and it's good for my pains, I did a course of hydrotherapy at the hospital and found it did work.

My 8 yr old daughter only has PE once a week, I think it's disgusting especially as they go on about kids being unfit. Megan does ballet and is forever on her bike and dance mat so I've no worries, but I still think kids need to do more team games. What do you think?

okay, moving the discussion back to the site now :bleh:

I've updated the arcade with a few new games (including Mahjong as Pam requested) and the articles system is back online.

I am also looking at limiting the arcade to active members of the site. This will probably just be that you need to make a set number of posts on the site before you can play in the arcade but i would like to hear what you think about this.

Pam

That's fine by me, I don't see why people should come here purely for the games.

I haven't had chance to look at Mahjong yet but thanks for putting it on, I will have a play tonight.

Steve, Yeti 1 won't save scores. I've played a slightly different version of this game elsewhere and managed to get joint first place so I'm eager to add this one to my list.

make them post 2 posts for every day they want to use the games!! watch the forums fill. :bleh:

I'd been tossing and turning in bed for about an hour before I came here, at least you don't have to go and stare at a computer screen all day at work like me - I'm going to have a stinker of a headache by tea time.

Just looking at the new scores on the arcade, seems pam had some spare time today :)

Pam

 Just a few games there Steve!

It was all due to a bad attack of insomnia this morning so the majority of games were played between 4.30 and 7.30am, then I snatched a quick game at lunchtime and managed to clear the board before dashing back to work again. What else is a girl supposed to do at those unearthly hours?

Anyway, don't just pick on me - Linny spends *far* more time than me in the arcade. (I've fallen out with her for pinching my Yeti 1 title already - that's something I'll have to work at!). See how many games Linny has played today....

Oh Pam, don't pick on me!!!!!:( I managed to do the little bit of housework my bones will let me do today AND I walked to the Post Office today! (1st trip in 2 weeks, bar school which is only 3 mins away!) Winning the Yeti 1 title was just luck most times I get zero! I told you the arcade keeps me sane, as I can't work and obviously need something intelligent to fill my time!!! Have a great weekend everyone.

Mahjong solitaire won't let me submit my score now. I cleared 3 screens and then when it said "submit score" it flashed back to the message board before I could click on it. Big sulks!

Sorry, me again!

How do we get back to the home page from the message board index page? All the links just seem to take you back to the index page. Am I missing something? Please can we have a "home" button? (or if there is one there, perhaps we could have a larger, brighter, bolder one for thickos like me who can't find it).

PS we only need 3 more members to get to 500!!!

No, you're not missing the home button, it's not there at the moment. I'll get it added this weekend. It's on my todo list for the site :)
