great news, shame so few are active and take part in the forums. but the members who do are all so friendly it's hard to be upset.

great little group of people, always good to get more. how long until we get to 1000?

 That's great news Lan, I think we were still in single numbers when I joined. :drunk: I'm not far off 500 posts either now, I'll have to keep typing so I can celebrate too

Great news

As Matt said it is a pity that more of the members don't join us here for "sparkling" conversation.

you might be senior but don't think you need to act sensibly. it's never stopped pam copper or me!!

you can just claim to have had a senior moment!:lol2:

Errrm excuse me Matt... speak for yourself!!! I'm very sensible, I am.

I didn't like being called "senior" and changed my title to something more suitable. I've forgotten how you do it but I think it is in "User CP" at the top of the screen.

Too many senior moments rec............what was I saying?

Good idea Pam. Do I ask for suggestions or has that been done before? I don't feel comfortable as senior so something will need to be done!:naughty:

Pam

Well I've been here for 3 years now since the early days and feel like part of the furniture so that's what I've put for mine.

matt

i think my description and signature line explain themselves and me adaquately. i hope so anyway, i'd hate anyone to think i was sane, or deliberately trying to insult/upset anyone. wind up and irritate but not insult:lol2:

Pam

Matt, it's a good job I've got broad shoulders with all the insults you chuck at me.

And don't worry, we are all completely sure that you are totally insane..... why else would you be on here at such times of day?

matt
09-02-2005, 04:09 AM
i suppose i can't be tottally insane....i am aware that i do odd things so atleast some of the time i must have a connection to reality. a very loose and tenuous connection but connection none the less.:lol2:

Perhaps you are eccentric. B)

matt
10-02-2005, 04:27 AM
i like the idea of eccentric.....does that mean i get to wear odd things and have a pet like a lobster (been done i know)

nothing more english than eccentricity.

let's see my hobby involves using multi million pounds of military satellites to locate small worthless toys hidden in tupperware boxes.......and some of you think i'm joking:lol2:

ellsie

Does your lobster come on command or do you think you will need a lead?:naughty:

Hi Matt,

I wanted crabs as a pet and had mudskippers. Please see the photo of my mudskippers (Prism & Sphynx) below:

Kind Regards,

Yuck, no thank you I don't think I could get passionate over something so ugly. I was going to make a smutty comment about crabs but I will hold my tongue (or rather fingers!)

Give me something nice and fluffy any day.

matt

pam, you and i think very alike. i too had to bite my tongue for the obvious jokes....

i've had a marine tank before with anenomies, crabs and so on. collected from the beach, rock pools. big kid me.

the lobster would need to be on a lead for the full eccentric effect. i can't remember who it was but it's been done before. quentin crisp or someone in victorian times used to keep one in london and take it for walks.
also kept newts as a child.

so do i need to start wearing cravates and smoking using a cigarette holder?

any suggestions on a postcard please.

I love marine fish (the bright coloured tropical marines) and am also facinated by anenomes etc but they are really difficult to keep and we couldn't even keen freshwater tropicals in our house as we have two windows in the living room so the sun shines on every part of the room at some point in the day and caused too much algae build up.

Matt, our insomnia is also something we have in common today. I don't know if it was a car driving over the metal plates on the road outside our house that woke me up or if it is all the Ofsted business at school that is preying on my mind but I've been awake for over an hour already this morning. Looks like I'll have to go and smash a few records in the arcade - watch out Linny!

Just noticed - I've got reason to celebrate now, I'm hit the 500 posts mark! You're not far behind me Matt, you'll be there within a couple of weeks I expect.

matt

i might go for another marine set up one day. as you say though they can be very expensive to set up and run.

it's amazing what you can find on the beach and in rockpools. my excuse being you can use it for education for the kids. examples of english marine life!

:band: Rock on Matt !

matt
11-02-2005, 03:21 PM
why should kids get all the fun? i love going into the rockpools and seeing what there is. never grow up....

trouble is i have to stay covered up as otherwise i'll scare people off the beach. looking like escapee from belsen.
