Hello, I'm also new to this site and just finding my way round:) My son is 6 and dairy allergic, he has never really been officially diagnosed except by a consultant who couldn't seem to make up thier mind what he was! He has been dairy free since he was about 6 months, and thriving since he was 3:D

Myself and my middle daughter are dairy free as we are intolerant, only mildly but staying free of dairy makes all the difference.
There are 5 of us, 2 adults and 3 children, from 6-14. We don't really have any problems with our diets, we home educate which makes life alot easier!
We mostly avoid processed food, artificial colours and flavours, and eat organic where possible. We shop some online with goodness direct, animal aid, and the vegan store. BTW, the animal aid site has some amazing chocolates, (all vegan),just right for curling up to watch the Chocolat movie with:drool:
We also got the Kinnerton easter eggs from Waitrose, The Range here was selling them too.
I belong to another dairy free site, think I may have met Pam before? Look forward to chatting with you all:wine:

Thought I recognised the name, yes you will have seen me before but this has been my home for a long time before the other one appeared. Welcome to this site, we're very friendly here.

I've got 3 children too, but slightly younger than yours, mine are 12 (next week), 8 and 5 but it is my youngest who has the milk problems, like yours never tested but a protein problem rather than lactose in my opinion. I am also dairy free by choice and it seems to keep my hives and hay fever at bay.

I haven't got any eggs yet and will have to go out looking for some in the next week I think before they all sell out. www.veganstore.co.uk also have a good range of vegan sweets and chocolates so are worth a look. I'm also doing some taste testing (such a chore you know!!!!!) for Condel Catering who are a newcomer to the free from confectionery market but looking very good. I will report back later.

I haven't actually seen Chocolat but I read the book a few years ago when it first came out. I found it quite heavy going but did enjoy the story. I will have to try and get the film at some point. I think I'd need plenty of choc to much whilst drooling over the goodies in the chocolate shop that she sets up.

Come back and visit us again soon Lunar we always welcome new posters whether the input is dairy free or just general chat to liven things up.

:D Hi Pam, nice to 'see' you again! Happy birthday for the 12yr old next week, my middle one is 12 today! Went girlie shopping together, great fun. Party tomorrow after ice skating, have been requested to make dairy free ying and yang marble cake:birthday: Will have to buy white icing sugar, normally get raw cane, don't think that will look too nice!
Yes, use the vegan store sometimes too. Got alot of advice from vegan site when we first started serious d.f. Not vegans ourselves, though birthday girl is almost as she doesn't eat eggs, meat, fish, or any dairy. Good job she likes soya and veg:)
