My memories of the weather in Wales aren't too favourable either - school trips to North Wales and a riding holiday in South Wales. Lots of rain every time.

I can't say much here though the weather was foul yesterday, torrential rain in bouts throughout the day.

Thanks everyone,

I would say something about all the negative views of the welsh weather, but as i look out of the window now, it's raining.

ROFL!!!!!

Seems reasonably bright here at the moment.

Hi all.

I have to agree with you about the weather in Wales. We have had bright sunshine this morning, snow and hail resulting in a mini snow drift, rain, bright sunshine and now strong winds accompanied by a grey sky.

Adds to the variety I guess and keeps us from getting bored.

Kind Regards,

Lan. :lol2:

I posted my greetings yesterday not long after Lan had alerted us to the event - where did it go?

Oh well Happy Birthday Steve  :birthday:

Well after saying how bright it was first thing we have icy cold weather and a few snow flakes, not to mention the chilling winds.

Happy birthday Steve:birthday: . I've never been to Wales. What am I missing?

we went from bright sun to a hail blizzard to sunny cloudy yesterday! that was fun:o

Pam

Our weather went from sunny and bright (but cold) through snow to absolutely blowing a gale and chucking it down - not very nice. So I don't think we can single Wales out as being any worse than anywhere else at the moment.

raining and miserable weather on your birthday. hope you found something to do inside that made up for it:o :lol2: :naughty:

let me guess she had you doing chores or something?

Lan
14-02-2005, 07:38 PM
Matt.

Me having Steve doing chores? Do you really think I'm an ogre? I only had him doing the bathroom, hoovering the whole house, cleaning the kitchen etcetera etcetera...

Kind Regards,

Lan. :D:D

Pam

Pam

Can't picture that one Matt, which is it? Lan is always telling us what a good cook Steve is, I think he ought to be delegated to permanent kitchen duty.

Lan
15-02-2005, 10:48 AM
You tell him Pam. Kitchen duty it shall be from now on.

Kind Regards,

Pam

Have you considered hiring him out Lan?

Lan
15-02-2005, 04:58 PM
Trust me Pam I have. I would advertise him as:

Excellent Cook, Great Bedmaker and House Cleaner. Available for all chores at £1,000 an hour.

Really feel he's worth that and more.

Kind Regards,

Lan. :D

it was the advert they banned. woman poors beer all over the floor and he lick it off then down loo etc etc then just as she gets to the bedroom she runs out:lol2: :lol2:

not being sexist but men do make the best chefs. why is that? serious question, you'd have thought women, who tend to more concentrated and meticulous.

i follow the advice given recently about not making beds as this helps to rid the bed of dust mites and the like. great excuse, plus no one else sets foot in my flat so what's the point of the effort?

Pam
16-02-2005, 07:21 AM
Men are the chefs because women have to do it all the time, get fed up of cooking and can't be bothered faffing about with fancy stuff - we just get on with it. I bet the male chefs don't have to clear up after themselves either. You ought to see the kitchen when my husband's been cooking!!!!

i have to say chefs all well and good but i prefer good old fashioned food. heard that the latest food survey agrees with me.

steak and chips, fish and chips, steak pie etc etc:drool:

none of the silly fancy foreign muck!!! not that i don't like a nice sweet and sour or curry (just can't eat them at moment)

shepherds pie, need i go on

Hi all,

I'll try anything once, I have to with Steve cooking. He is always coming up with new recipes. Not complaining though as enjoy them. I am a small eater so find steak fills me up too quickly and bloats me.

Love Shepherds pie though, as Steve makes the best. Will have to ask him to put the recipe on here.

Kind Regards,

Lan. :D

I love old fashioned cooking, especially pies, stews, stodgy stuff etc. That's why I need to diet again.

Lan

Hi Pam,

Tell me about it. I love so many old fashioned foods I am expanding rather fast. Really need to start the diet again for about the 1000th time.

Kind Regards,

Lan. :D

i'm the opposite, i'd love t oput the weight on. my own fault i don't eat enough and stop eating when no longer hungry not when full. there is a big diff.

i should market it as the ptsd diet. go quietly insane and loose weight aswell.

Pam

My problem is that I don't stop eating when my belly is sufficiently full, if I like the look or taste of food I keep on going until I can't possibly stuff any more in. At buffets I usually embarass myself as I love all the different options - I have some of everything and have to go back for more of my favourites (at least once). If trays of nibbles are left out I cannot stop picking and can easily eat the whole lot.

I'm also a boredom eater and frequently eat just for the sake of it. What shall I do now? I know, I'll find something to eat!

I wish I could send you some of my excess Matt.

Lan

Hi all.

If Matt wants any excess weight he can have some of mine. I could really do with getting rid of a few bags of fat, too many spare tyres and all that.

I comfort eat. As soon as depression or anxiety sets in I eat. I also eat too much and stuff until I feel sick. Then I feel worse as I feel sick.

Kind Regards,

Lan. :D

Last year I had a terrible time when I changed jobs. I loved my job but it was only temporary through an agency and not well paid so when a local government job came up nearer home with better pay I applied. After the interview I had 2 months of hell before I was offered the job - I didn't want to take it but knew I had to. In that time and the next couple of months after I started the not so nice job I stuffed my face with chocolate and goodness knows what every night and put on over a stone in weight.

The job isn't quite so bad now but I still enjoyed my other one far more.

I tend to swing between not eating through worry or going overboard when I am upset. I think I could be said to be verging on having an eating disorder sometimes with chocolate, I have been known to eat and eat and then hide the evidence but I could never make myself sick. The chemicals in chocolate must be really addictive to me.

Hi Pam,

Been through the sicky stage and it's not a pleasant experience. Wouldn't want to go there again.

Kind Regards,

Hi, I have lost a stone since I gave up dairy. I used to be really bloated and my joints were swollen due to it affecting my arthritis. Unfortunately, as you know, I like food but my stomach doesn't!! Food is very bland as I can't have dairy, onion, garlic or anything containing garlic or onion powder. Sometimes I get these agonising stomach cramps when I haven't eaten anything 'naughty'! You become in a state of mind that you are scared to eat too much as you may have the pain and an upset stomach. It plays hovoc with going out anywhere, I don't like going out on my own much these days. Oh well the test is on Tuesday and on Monday I've got to starve for 24 hours and drink a special bottle of potion, I think I know where I'll be on Monday!! :( I hope Andrex is on special this weekend!!!!!!!!!

I have a small stomach - well that is my excuse - it doesn't take much to fill me up. I don't eat for the sake of it and certainly not until I feel sick.

Good luck with the tests Linny - it sounds a bit grim to me. I guess it will help in the long run if they can find out what is wrong and can do something to make you feel better.

Good luck with the tests Linny. If it is the potion to clear out your bowel it isn't pleasant, my hubby had to take it a few years ago so you have my sympathy. I hope the results come back ok.
