 My name is Claire,
Would like to share my experience, it would be great if there was someone who also has gone through what I have and still do to some degree. About 14 months ago I suffered sinusitus, diagnosed as being chronic/acute sinusitus. Antibiotics helped with the pain and swelling of infected sinus tubes but I have been left with allergies ever since. Dairy products and Malt and Barley produce pain and swelling to my sinuses to the point of you would not believe!!:( By eliminating them from my diet as well as wheat and gluten I manage to live a normal life.

Perfume and dust are also real problems as well as people smoking by me. I have to be cautious all the time.

The good thing though is the fact that I have a fantastic doctor, supportive partner and family that have pulled me through it. Although it would be great to talk to others that suffer and truly understand.

you have my sympathy. i'm dairy wheat/gluten free aswell and have been for a while. how you doing? has your doctor been able to prescribe gluten free products? have you asked him? partly it's cheaper but also it's a heck of a lot easier if the chemist gets all the stuff in for you. don't forget if it's all on prescription that it's cheaper to get prepayment than pay individually.
i don't get mine on prescription as i don't come back positive on the tests. trouble being i had been given up for a while prior to the tests. hence no antibodies hence false negative test result.

welcome to the site. ask away with any probs, or just have a chat to like minded people. good to have you here.:lol2:

Hi Claire, welcome to the site. It sounds like you've had a tough time, you're very lucky to have found a good doctor, I hope you get lots of support. I had a tough enough time managing to keep just dairy out of my daughter's diet when she first went dairy free so to keep all those other things out too must be a nightmare. I'm sure there will be someone here who will be able to answer at least some of your questions.

Hi Claire,

Welcome to the Website. I am dairy, citrus and caffeine free. If I can help with anything please let me know.

I also have problems with dust as it dries my skin out, gives me a rash and makes me sneeze uncontrollably.

Kind Regards,

Lan :D

Hello,
Thanks for making me feel welcome, no my tests came back negative having also given up wheat and gluten! However I will go back and have the test done again so we shall see.. I am finding my diet difficult but remain positive about it all.

you're going to have to eat all the bad stuff normally for a week or two to make sure that any anitbodies are really present.

no point doing the test again to get another possible false negative.
