Hi everyone, I'm here because of Copper, who is my mum. She handily passed on this address of this place because it looks like she's passed on her lactose intolerance to me too.
We're not 100% certain that's what I've got, so at the moment I'm on a dairy-free diet. What's going to make it difficult to prove is that I'm going on holiday to Australia on Thursday!
It's good to know I'm not alone though, and there are foods I can eat. Like Waitrose own rich tea biscuits, for example, which I wasn't eating before because they were naughty. Now they're allowed :)

Just wondering why the humble rich tea could be considered naughty!!!
A lot of tesco value bisciuts are dairy free too, digestives, bourbons - now they could be considered naughty!! :)
Have a wonderful time in Australia, how long are you going for???
And Welcome to this site!

Thanks for the welcome.
I'm going to be in Australia for three weeks.
Well, rich tea biscuits are naught because I should be eating fruit as snacks really. Not least because when it comes to biscuits I don't know when to stop.
Now chocolate is definitely naughty :)
naughty's good. you must have some bad stuff to make yourself feel better when you're good!! there's a logic in there somewhere. have fun in oz.
Hi Paranoidangel and welcome to the site. The best way to see if you do have lactose intolerance is to avoid all milk for a couple of weeks and then try reintroducing it to see what symptoms you get. But that might be better left until you get back from your hols. I hope you have a wonderful time.

Thanks matt and Pam. I'm liking your logic there, matt :)
enjoy the holiday. don't forget you don't have to spend more than 5 quid on each of us as a holiday present. i take it your mum did explain that before you joined?:lol2:
i'll have a small koala bear. watch out for the real thing, they're meant ot be evil little buggers.
I've always loved possums when I've seen them on tv. They have lots of of scary spiders in Australia though, don't they?
Have a great time, and if you see any exciting dairy free stuff whilst you are there let us know (not that we'll be able to get it over here).

I've certainly heard that if you cuddle them, they go to toilet on you. I definitely want to see one, I'll have to think about getting closer, I think.

Um, yes, but I'm trying very hard not to think about that!
I'll definitely let you all know what the dairy-free situation is like in Oz.
