 Hi there
I am trying to make yoghurt with Wysoy Infant formula at home. At the moment with not much joy.
Has anyone experience, tips or knows how to do it???

I have a 15 months old son allergic to dairy, nuts incl. penuts and egg.
I would like him to get more calories and vitamins in making his own youghurt.

I've made yoghurt successfully with cartons of soya milk but have never tried using formula.

I use a couple of tablespoons of live dairy free yoghurt (Yofu natural or Sojasun natural are both live and unflavoured) to a pint of tepid soya milk, just barely heated in a pan. Mix together and pour into a flask then leave overnight. Pour into a container, seal and put in the fridge until you need it. I am told that it doesn't matter if you use UHT, fresh, soya, rice or whatever milk so I assume that formula would be ok. Normal milk recipes also suggest using powdered milk as a thickener so formula shouldn't be a problem - maybe you could use half formula and half shop soya milk. The results in my experience aren't as thick as bought yoghurt and can separate a bit but if you give them a whizz with a blender it improves the appearance.

I don't know if you have seen Yofu Junior, these are fortified soya yoghurts made by Alpro especially for little ones. They have no bits in and are very nice tasting but a little expensive at around £1.19 for 4. (Perhaps just give half a pot per meal). As far as I know they are nut free as they stopped making the hazelnut desserts in an attempt to make their whole production line nut free, they are definitely dairy and egg free as they are suitable for vegans. I usually buy 500ml pots of natural yofu and add fruit to it or use it as a cream substitute on sweets as it isn't as sour as normal plain yoghurt.

Hi all.

Provamel make baby yoghurts. I can't remember what flavours they are, but I think one maybe banana. They are dairyfree and that's all I know. I have seen them in Tescos and you could visit the site below, to see if they have anymore information.

Good Luck.
