My daughter has just found out she has a sensitivity to milk amongst other things. She has been recommended to use Hazelnut or Almond milks instead. Does anyone know of any UK suppliers?

I'm not sure of the suppliers myself (altho' I'm sure someone else will) but I think almond milk is mostly available thru health food shops - I know my 2 local ones stock it, one of which is Holland and Barrett

Hi Linda

I have just had a quick Google and found that both of these milks are sold mail order by Goodness Direct

I think the company is called Ecomil, they do both Almond and Hazelnut milks in liquid or powdered form (but the powdered ones make a really grainy liquid). Try Goodness Direct as suggested above or your local health food shop - they will probably order some for you if they don't stock it.

I'm surprised that you have had nut milks recommended to you as nuts are frequently the cause of other allergic reactions and children are usually told to avoid nuts (or rather their parents are).

There are lots of other alternatives - soya, oat, rice, quinoa (by Ecomil), potato (vance's darifree), pea (white sun), chuffa (tiger white) so there's plenty to go at until you find something you like.

My advice is to get friendly with the owner of your local health food shops, most of them are very willing to help you find suitable foods and will often make special orders if required.

And welcome to the site, keep on asking the questions and join in the conversations, we're all here to help each other and make friends.
