My 2 year old daughter was breastfed until 8 months and was extremely healthy until she reached 18 months . Since then she has had gastric flu, followed by croup followed by chest infections, colds and now tonsillitus on what appears to be a permanant basis. She will be healthy for a week to 10 days and then gets something else.

It's been suggested that I cut out dairy but as a family we love milk, cheese and yoghurt and I feel a bit sceptical above depriving her of the things she really enjoys. Maybe I should give it a go and see, but I just wondered if anyone has had any experience of this.

Hi Tina,

I'm afraid I have no knowledge on this subject, however some of the dairy free alternatives available are very tasty. That's my opinion anyway.

I am also unable to give any medical advice as I myself, have no medical knowledge.

My advice is that you contact your GP and ask to see a State Registered Dietician, who will be able to advise you on cutting out dairy as your daughter would need other foods to keep up her calcium intake.

I wish you luck for the future.
