Alas, I am the bearer of bad news:

http://www.manchesteronline.co.uk/business/general/s/158/158562_cadbury_buys_green__blacks.html

We already know what damage they have done to Bournville which was previously dairy free, I just hope that G&B don't go the same way. Cadbury seem to stick milk in everything they touch.

Cadbury are planning to continue running G&B as a stand alone business so hopefully things will remain as they are. I just hope they keep their contaminating hands off my favourite chocolate.

Maybe someone should contact Cadburys and see what they say??
I don't want to see G &B change, its my preferred chocolate (the more of it the better as well!!)
Thanks for the info though.

What are you doing up at this time in a morning? I'm used to being here on my own at this time and I can't leave here until I've read all the new messages and you keep adding more - I can't keep up (might just visit the arcade for a quick one).

I've never noticed before. There's usually just Matt comes here before me, he's here around 4am and I get here at 6ish. Off to get my porridge now, then shower and off to work.

I have sent an e-mail to "Lucy" via the G & B contact us page. They have replied in the past so I am hopeful that I will get a reply on this occasion.

I vary on what time I get up, morning training means getting up any time between 5.15 and 6.20, which means im normally online shortly after that, or if I've got no training I'm normally here for about 8.15.
I hope they don't change the receipe, I'd be really upset :(

If they change G&B I will be devastated - that is the only nice chocolate left to eat in my opinion. I am munching my way through their peppermint at the moment.

It is 7am now, but I've filled in my tax credits renewal form and my school clothing grant form before coming here, and done a bit of online bill paying.

4.30 and I'm awake again. Just thought I would take the opportunity to update you on the G & B situation. I got a reply from them yesterday and although it is a standard reply it should hopefully mean that they won't be messing with the ingredients.

Thank you for your comment and concern. In response to your email, I have explained our links with Cadbury’s and the future of Green & Black’s as part of Cadbury’s.

Yes, Cadbury Schweppes have bought the business. I’m very sorry you feel that way and I do appreciate your concerns. You will probably know that we have grown at a rapid rate over the last 3 years – this has been helped by Cadbury Schweppes, which has owned a small share of the business since 2002, and other investors support. Cadbury Schweppes is a much-loved, household name and a business with one of the strongest reputations in Britain and our decision to forge links with them, over and above any other company, was not made lightly.

Cadbury Schweppes will be able to help us maintain our growth and take Green & Black’s further as an international organic chocolate brand. You will be pleased to know that Cadbury Schweppes is treating Green & Black’s as an independent business – so our great tasting chocolate will stay the same, our ethical sourcing and business practices will continue and even the same people will be staying on to run the business.

I can assure you that we do take all of our customer’s feedback seriously and I will certainly pass on your comments on to the senior management.

To reiterate, the taste, sourcing and ethical, fair trade & organic principles of our business will remain untouched and as a result I sincerely hope you will continue to enjoy our chocolate.

If you are interested in gaining more information on this matter please visit our news page on our website www.greenandblacks.com (http://www.greenandblacks.com/).

Yours Faithfully

That was a quick reply! It sounds promising. Waitrose were doing 3 for 2 G & B choc a while ago, maybe it's because of the takeover they were trying to get more people to buy it.
